Short description
This long gravel ride goes in a different direction than most of the other rides that I describe, heading North. It is challenging, like many of the rides, because there is virtually no flat – and, of course, gravel is harder to cycle on than metalled road. None of the hills are particularly long, but some are rather steep: slow and steady gets it done!
There is only one place on the route to stop for sustenance, which is a Straford – one needs to ride about 500m beyond the left turn to find a shop and café (check opening times).
Saint Gérard, slightly off the route, also has a store and a diner – but is a smaller place than Weedon. Weedon, itself not large, has a gas station (more reliably open) and a diner, but is further off the route.
