Short description
This gravel loop is a good length – long enough to be challenging, but short enough to do in a couple of hours (or just over)… at least for me.
Chemin Dell is a long and rising gravel road – a little rough in parts – through the woods.
At Milan there is a diner (check hours).
The road out of Milan continues to rise slightly, then levels off: by level I don’t mean flat. Rather, there are about as many uphill as downhill segments.
There are some stunning views of Mont Mégantic as one approaches Val-Racine.
There is a decent climb out of Val-Racine… but, after about 4km, it flattens out: it is then downhill all the way to Scotstown. The route indicated takes the gravel cycle path through the woods into Scotstown, but it is also possible, at km 45, to continue along the tarmaced Chemin Franceville, turning left onto route 214 back into Scotstown.
