Short description
This as a fairly long ride, essentially along gravel roads except for the first 23km.
Many variants are possible.
For instance:
- to make it more gravelly, either of the two gravel routes between Scotstown and la Patrie (chemin MacNamee – chemin Lucas – chemin Arnold; or chemin Cohoes) can be taken (see the La Patrie gravel run).
- to shorten the ride somewhat, a left turn can be taken at Val-Racine, along chemin de Franceville, a gravel road leading back to Scotstown (and which cuts about 15km off the ride)
- since the ride takes you past the road to Mont Mégantic, it is possible to throw in a steep mountain climb as well (see Mont Mégantic and Mont Saint Joseph).
- etc…
The ride proposed is, therefore, one variant of the many rides that can take in the area South-East of Scotsown, reaching down to the border.
There is a shop at Notre-Dame-des-Bois (km 41) – check hours. In the past there have been cafés in this village, but they have come and gone. At the shop you will be able to get drinks, food, and maybe a coffee.
At Milan (km 66) there is a diner (check hours).
At la Patrie (km 14) there is a shop and diner (check hours).
